Composite True 3D Text Into A Scene With Photoshop CS6

The 3D tools in previous versions of Photoshop were never been the best. They were clumsy, didn't look very good, and were not very flexible. In turn, 3D editing with Photoshop never really caught on to become part of anybody's regular workflow.

With Photoshop CS6, the team at Adobe has completely redeemed themselves. The new rendering engine allows you create realistic 3D shapes and text quickly and easily.

This tutorial will show you how to composite real 3D text into a photograph without ever leaving the Photoshop CS6 interface.

Realistic Patterned Vintage Card and Ribbon

Vintage designs convey a sense of great character and nostalgia and are perfect when you are in need of a warm, inviting feeling.

This tutorial is going to show you how to create a textured vintage card and ribbon graphic using vectors, textures, and layer styles.

Let's get started!

Three New Blur Filters In Photoshop CS6

This video will show you the basics of the new Field Blur, Iris Blur, and Tilt-Shift filters in Photoshop CS6.

The blur tools are much improved upon in the new version of Photoshop, and with a little ingenuity you can use them to create some simple, good looking effects.

Retro Linen Textured Letterpress Graphic

Retro design is everywhere. It has become so mainstream that it makes you wonder if it can even be considered retro anymore. Regardless, it is a popular style, and one you should learn.

Today we are going to show you how to create a retro linen textured letterpress graphic using Photoshop layer styles and a few texture overlays.

How To Make Your Photos Pop In Lightroom 4 In 5 Minutes

Our very first video tutorial will show you how to use Lightroom 4 to take a dull, lifeless photo and turn it into something that stands above the rest in a measly 5 minutes.

This tutorial covers Lightroom 4, but the same techniques can be applied to achieve the same effect in Lightroom 3.

Dramatically Reduce EPS File Size

We all learn things that make us wonder what took us so long to figure them out, and for many of you, this will be one of those times.

Have you ever been working on an Illustrator file but when you save it as an EPS the file size seems to balloon exponentially for no reason? The trick is that there is a reason, you just don't know it yet.

For our example, we are using our Hand Drawn Design Elements Vector Pack 1 (blatant product placement), but it works for absolutely any EPS file that contains vector art.

If you are the proud owner of our pack, you will notice that the EPS version of the file is 2.56MB in size. Not terrible, but we can do better.

The artboard in this file is 12 square inches. If we open the file and resize the contents of the artboard to about 34 square inches and resave the file, is is now 5.87MB.

Alternatively, if we resize the contents of the artboard to approximately 4 square inches and resave the file, it is now 1.04MB. That is a reduction of almost 60% in less than 10 seconds.

This may not seem like a big deal, and it really isn't for a file this size, but imagine you have 100 files that are 100MB each taking up a total of 10GB of your hard drive space. By using this simple technique, you can save yourself nearly 60GB.

Quick Reflective Glowing 3D Text Effect

Creating unique text effects for every new project can be a daunting task, so it's always good to learn new tips and tricks to help stir up some inspiration.

This tutorial uses Photoshop styles, multiple layers, and lighting effects to create a reflective, glowing 3D text effect in very little time. The end result can be tweaked for a few different looks as well, making it a versatile tool for the future.
